IHS Selected by International Energy Giant Statoil to Provide Enterprise Environmental Accounting Software Solution
Colorado - 27 November, 2012 - IHS (NYSE: IHS), the leading source of information and analytics, today announced that Statoil, a top global energy industry company headquartered in Norway, has selected enterprise software from the IHS Environmental Performance Solution™ as the information management framework for its environmental accounting program.
“IHS is proud to help Statoil leverage a broad spectrum of environmental information throughout their worldwide operations,” said IHS Vice President-EHS & Sustainability Solutions Scott Lockhart. “We look forward to working together to promote operational excellence and achieve their competitive business goals through a unified strategy for Enterprise Sustainability Management.”
Statoil is ranked number 40 on the Global 500, with oil and gas production facilities in 36 countries. In early 2012, the company set out to upgrade its environmental accounting system in order to ensure full compliance with local, national and international regulatory reporting requirements.
The Statoil team chose best-in-class IHS Essential Suite® software – part of the IHS Environmental Performance Solution – to fulfill complex compliance reporting requirements while also eliminating redundant data management processes and facilitating improved communication across the company. The IHS solution will, for example, enable employees speaking 20 different languages in more than 30 countries to communicate environmental compliance information via a common IT platform.
The IHS Environmental Performance Solution is one of six innovative solutions that combine software, content and expertise to address a full range of Enterprise Sustainability Management challenges – including health and safety compliance, operational risk management, product stewardship, energy and carbon management and corporate social responsibility reporting.
